As you brace yourself for the chill of fall, follow these instructions to keep your heating system in tip-top shape:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Maintain Heating Vents<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Survey your home\u2019s heating vents to make sure that they are not blocked by furniture, carpeting, or curtains. This prevents fire hazards and ensures the optimum air flow throughout your home. Be sure to dust the vents to eliminate air pollution and<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Maintain Filters<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The filtering system in your home is something that needs to be maintained year round. If your filters are dusty, dirty and blocked by debris, your home\u2019s HVAC furnace system WILL NOT run properly. Cleaning or replacing filters when necessary is an essential part of maintaining your entire HVAC system.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Make an appointment for an annual heating system check-up.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Your heating system needs to be tuned up annually. Not only will a maintenance appointment give you the peace of mind that you\u2019re getting the most out of your system, it can also ensure that you\u2019re maintaining your unit\u2019s warranty. Most systems warranty agreement states that the equipment must be maintained by a licensed professional in order for the warranty to be validated.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a good idea to take all these steps when preparing for fall, and make sure to do home maintenance on your vents and filters, it\u2019s easy to do and can save you money.
