Working in conjunction with the evaporator coil, they are responsible for removing the heat from your home.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s keep your utility bill low and increase the life span of your system with a monthly cleaning. Follow these steps:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Inspect your AC unit<\/strong> to ensure there isn\u2019t any serious damage to the coils or other parts. If there is, stop and call your local HVAC tech.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Grab a coil brush<\/strong> from your local hardware store and wipe it up and down like you are painting. This technique will remove any unwanted debris like grass, leaves, etc.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Purchase a fin comb.<\/strong> This tool will straighten out any bent wires.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Use a hose to wet down the condenser.<\/strong> Next, spray a generous amount of foaming coil cleaner onto the coils. The cleaner will start to foam.
