Common Signs That It Might Be Time To Replace Your HVAC System

Your HVAC system is likely the most important home comfort system that you have installed in your house. So when it comes down to it, taking care of your heating and cooling unit should be high on the priority list! So what do you do if you’ve noticed that it’s not working the way it used to? Is it too old? Does it need a tune-up? If you’ve got concerns that it might be time to replace your HVAC system, here are some sure signs that you should consider installing a new system in your home!

1. Your heat pump, air handler, furnace, or boiler are more than 10 years old.

HVAC systems only last so long, and as they age, they begin to wear out, costing you more money to heat and cool your home. Consider replacing it with a high efficiency HVAC unit! You’ll save money, be more comfortable, and be more eco-friendly!

2. Your equipment needs frequent repairs, and your energy bills are going up.

If you’ve noticed your energy bills skyrocketing and your system needing constant repairs, you’re likely in need of a replacement. HVAC systems that are ready to die should be replaced; don’t spend thousands of dollars attempting to resuscitate a system that won’t serve you well.

3. Some rooms are hot or cold.

If your guest bedroom is constantly sweltering, or your bathroom is strangely chilly, your house isn’t haunted….it’s more than likely poor an issue with your old HVAC unit!

4. You notice problems with your home’s humidity.

Things like poor equipment operation, inadequate equipment size, or leaky ductwork can cause the air to be too dry in the winter or too humid in the summer, creating indoor air quality problems and causing a rise on your bill.

6. Your heating or cooling system is loud and obnoxious.

You could have an undersized duct system or a problem with the indoor coil of your cooling equipment. The general need for maintenance could also be the cause of a noisy system.

Don’t let these little issues cause you to fret. Have one of our trained technicians come out to your home and take a look at your HVAC system. It could be fixed with simple maintenance, but if not, we’ve got the tools, knowledge, and experience to help you with your installation today!
