Blood Drives Give Back to Those in Need!

Each year, the Haymarket community comes together for a day of celebration honoring the community where they live! This year’s celebration was nothing short of FUN!

Early in the morning on September 17th, Main Street Haymarket was shut down and the excitement began! Starting at 9am, the event kicked off with a parade! From dancers, to martial art clubs, political figures, boy and girl scouts, to charities, schools, police and firefighters – the parade route was packed!

The F.H. Furr booth was located next to the entrance of the “Teen Zone” which included the rock climbing wall, petting zoo and a bunch of games! We were also the proud sponsors of the F.H. Furr Misting Tent which was located next to the “Kids Zone”! There were games and even a blow up obstacle course there!

Countless area vendors were set up including local businesses, churches, crafters, schools and local organizations. There were a ton of food choices as well!

It was a successful day for the entire community and we look forward to participating in years to come!

On Sept. 1, our Cares team had the pleasure of attending a great event at McLean High School! Dr. Ellen Reilly, principal of McLean High School, put together a festival event at the school where clubs, sports, and community members could come together to celebrate the start of the new school year.

The event was held at the newly named “The F.H. Furr Sportsplex” and the track was filled! Parents were there to pick up their booster passes and Highlander gear. Students were there to check out the clubs and things that would be offered for the upcoming school year.

The grills were fired up at the concession stand and Mr. Furr was there to wave to everyone as they came in!

As the school’s Diamond Sponsor, we were invited to come and hand out our swag, including frisbees, water bottles, pens, and more! We look forward to working with McLean High School for many years to come.

Saturday, September 10th, was a particularly cloudy day. It was actually an incredibly sunny day, the clouds in the sky were color clouds from the Color Vibe race at the Boys & Girls Club in Manassas, VA! Pinks, blues, yellows – all over the place!

F.H. Furr was a proud VIP Vibe Sponsor for the day, and what a great day it was! Participants had the option of registering for the 5K run or the mile run and both runs included the runners getting blasted with color at different stations throughout the route. Runners were provided with a Zumba warm-up from a local gym! All of the proceeds from the days event benefited the Boys & Girls Club.

Here are some participant photos with our very own Mr. Furr!

The Summer is usually full of fun – spending time at the pool, sleeping in, family vacations and resting up for the upcoming school year. But some spend part of their Summer getting ready for the new school year. Many organizations are starting their Summer off with planning school supply drives. One of those organizations here in our area is Northern Virginia Family Service (NVFS).

Have you heard about NVFS? It’s a private nonprofit that helps families in need all over Northern Virginia. They help the homeless, the hungry – ALL those in need, including students! Each Summer they put together a school supply drive where they collect everything a student could need, including backpacks!

This year F.H. Furr was able to participate in their supply drive as the Official Backpack Sponsor and we were able to donate over 800 backpacks! The best part of all? We were able to help NVFS distribute the bags to the students in need at the pickup day held in Manassas! Families were lined up to pick up their fully stocked backpacks!

NVFS collected SO many supplies they were able to extend the backpack drive to Fairfax County AND Loudoun County! Our F.H. Furr Cares team had a great time with NVFS delivering these backpacks to those in need in the community!

And that’s not all! We were also able to donate over 10,000 pencils to local schools in the Northern Virginia area. You might have even seen our F.H. Furr Cares car on the highways throughout the area delivering them! These pencils will help the schools with standardized testing and back to school night, as well as school events!

We had a great Summer donating our time to local school drives and are excited to see what the school year has in store for us – and them!

When you call for service, do you REALLY know who is coming into your home? Recently in the news, we read of an air conditioning repairman in Florida that assaulted a customer after restraining her children. Due to lacerations to her face and head, she actually had to be transported to the hospital! You can see the story here.

We really couldn’t believe what we were reading! It got us thinking about just how thankful we are that we have promises that we stand by for our customers every single day.

One of the biggest things that F.H. Furr prides ourselves on is something we call the “F.H. Furr Difference”. We want you to know that YOU are as safe as your home is in our hands. We want you to know that we treat our customers as family. We pride ourselves on the fact that our technicians have the utmost respect for every single one of our customers. After all, we only hire “Absolutely the Best”.

Because our employees represent our company, we want to be sure that our values are displayed through them! Many of our employees go into our customers’ homes for repairs, maintenance and replacement, and we require each of our employees pass a thorough background check before they are hired. This process gives our customers the peace of mind they need, to know that the technicians we send into the homes are people they can trust!

We also want you to feel secure knowing that all work being performed is done so by completely competent technicians. Our employees are required to pass a drug test before being hired as well as once a month. The dates are random to ensure maximum security.

We don’t want our customers to have to worry about their home or themselves, so we do everything we can to ensure their safety is top priority

….. More Techs, More Services, More Everything! F.H. Furr has had exponential growth over the past years, that we have been in business. As we continue to grow larger, we would like to thank our wonderful customers for helping us get to where we are today! (more…)

Cracker Jacks, Pretzels, Coke, and the warmth of the sun on your face are things that come to mind when thinking about America’s favorite past-time: Baseball. This, paired with little kids running around instead of professional baseball players, makes it even better. F.H. Furr proudly sponsors multiple teams in Northern Virginia.

  • Greater Manassas Baseball League (GMBL): Their goal through playing baseball is to build confidence, citizenship, and positive character in our youth. The league is located in Manassas on the corner of 28 and Godwin Drive. We sponsor multiple teams within the league. We want everyone to be able to participate in their favorite sport, so we also donated a $500 scholarship, so all kids have the opportunity to play.
  • Gainesville Haymarket Baseball League (GHBL): The Little League instills 4 core pillars in their players, Keep it Simple (Simplicity empowers the message), Explain the Why (Purpose drives the human spirit), Celebrate the Individual (Fuel their willpower to succeed) and Have Fun (Joy shatters the limits of what we can achieve – the game is supposed to be fun).
  • Fairfax Little League: Located in Fairfax, VA, and Burke, VA, the FXLL is continually growing and offers a variety of baseball camps. Additionally, the teams have the opportunity of being able to play at 4 different baseball fields!
  • South County Little League: Come out to a game to support and cheer on the little baseball stars in Lorton, Virginia.
  • Vienna Little League: Centered in Vienna, VA, F.H. Furr supports multiple teams. We also had the great opportunity to donate 175 bags to the teams, so the players could carry their baseball gear without any trouble.

Little League has been a great opportunity to get involved and reach out to the community. We also sponsor other organizations, including swim teams and soccer teams. When you’re out at a game and spot a banner, take a picture with it and post it on social media with the hashtag #fhfurrcares!

Our end of season sale means that when you buy a complete heating and cooling system, you’ll get a NEW furnace ABSOLUTELY FREE!

If you’ve been thinking about an upgrade, now’s the time! Whether you’ve been needing a high efficiency system, or a replacement for one that’s breaking down, we’ve got you covered!

Your old heating and cooling system might be working twice as hard to create a comfortable home environment, meaning it’s wasting energy AND money! A newer system helps you put that money back in your pocket each month by operating with more efficiency!

If you’ve noticed that your energy bill is rising, an aging furnace could be the cause! As furnaces get older, they become less efficient. In addition to age, furnaces can lose efficiency when they aren’t maintained. If you decide to take advantage of the free furnace, we encourage you to maintain your HVAC system annually!

‘Tis the season of giving! As the holiday rush begins, we are encouraged not to lose sight of the fact that giving is often more important than receiving. At F.H. Furr, we believe in these values not just during the holidays but all year round.

F.H. Furr stays involved in the community and recently held a blood drive to give back. All F.H. Furr employees were encouraged to participate, and we succeeded in the amount of blood needed for the drive. Needless to say, it was a success, thanks to the community coming together and willingly giving up their time and energy to give back to those in need.

F.H. Furr encourages you to get involved this holiday season and gift the gift of giving. Whether it’s giving blood, donating toys, or helping with a local shelter, there are plenty of opportunities for you to participate in your community.

We hope that you find some way to get involved this year and experience the joy of giving!

Volunteers Donating Blood At F.H. Furr

Our employees were thrilled to participate in F.H. Furr’s annual blood drive to give back. We would like to thank each team member who participated, as well as members of the community and the staff at the Red Cross. Without each volunteer’s time and goodwill, the blood drive would not have been the success it was. Lives were saved because of volunteers. Join the cause today and donate blood!

Give Blood. Give Life.

This Christmas, give the gift of life to someone in need. Every 2 seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood, and more than 41,000 blood donations are needed every day.

When you donate your blood, it can be used for those who are suffering from cancer, sickle cell disease, or victims of accidents. A single-car accident victim can require as many as 100 pints of blood. This means that your time and gift could save the life of someone immediately. What a wonderful feeling to know that your donation has given hope and a future to someone in need. Please consider donating blood this season at a Red Cross or Inova center. Someone will be eternally grateful to you.
