Our F.H. Furr Cares team immediately sent out a call for ALL HANDS ON DECK within the company! Boy oh boy, did our employees ever turn out to help!

We packed our Cares car to the TOP! Pastas, cookies, mac & cheese, diapers, canned goods – it was AMAZING!

Eileen, the director of the food pantry, couldn’t thank us enough! They help around 2500 individuals each month! They usually spend about $4000 monthly on food for those that need assistance and our donations helped them tremendously!

Then, we decided to help AGAIN!!! We had a Peanut Butter Drive and decided that we were going to donate to the food pantry in Haymarket once again! So, our Cares team went out to different grocery stores in the area and stocked up!

Any guesses to what our grand total of jars was!? 312! YES! 312 jars!

We couldn’t lend a hand to local organizations without the help of the wonderful employees of F.H. Furr and their donations!

As you’ve heard by now, F.H. Furr is proud to partner with Stone Bridge High School in Loudoun County and work with McLean High School in Fairfax County. Not only have we made educational contributions, but our F.H. Furr Cares team also heads out to the schools to attend some of the events and spread the good word about F.H. Furr!

What a busy winter we had when it came to these schools and their sports! While the students were hoping for snow days that didn’t come, they were also in the gym practicing hard and getting ready for a season full of great match-ups!

Here are a few highlights of their seasons!

• While the Stone Bridge boys’ basketball team ended their season with an 11-15 record and the girls ended theirs with an 11-11 record, their wins were great! Some were by quite a few points, and some were nail-biter games that they pulled ahead at the last minute!

• Both the McLean boys’ and girls’ basketball teams had great seasons! The girls’ squad had a winning 13-12 season!

• McLean’s Gymnastics Team is State Champions! This is their 2nd state title in the past three years! Way to go, ladies!

• Two members of Stone Bridge’s swim team went to states and WON their events!

• Stone Bridge has a Virginia State 5A State Champion in wrestling!

And those are just a few of the highlights of the great seasons the schools had over the winter season!

At F.H. Furr, we believe that making sure our customers are 100% satisfied is very important, sometimes we like to let our hair down and have a bit of fun!

We decided to jump in on the fun of the viral “Mannequin Challenge” sensation and create a video of our own! For those that don’t know, the Mannequin Challenge is a viral internet video trend where people basically remain frozen in place while filmed by a cameraman. Some students in Jacksonville, Florida started the trend and it took off! Professional athletes, whole sports teams, musicians and even television shows have posted videos online of their versions of the viral hit.

This year’s “Keep ‘Em Warm Coat Drive” was a HUGE hit! By the time we collected everything, we provided over 400 coats to local organizations! Our employees brought in coats, we had some help from a local Cub Scout pack and we had numerous locations around the area as well!

We partnered with Volunteer Prince William again this year for our annual coat drive and we filled their office up with coats when we dropped them off! They will be provided to needy families around the area through some organizations including SERVE!
