Industry experts are forecasting that energy prices are going to skyrocket in the months ahead. Electric power rates have already risen this year and are expected to continue to rise in the future. A precision inspection and cleaning helps your HVAC run more efficiently and use less energy…saving you money. It’s the best thing you can do to guarantee a cool, worry-free, energy-efficient home through the last few weeks of spring and into the summer season!

Here’s what will happen:

At F.H. Furr the safety of you, your family and your home are our first priority.  Your Maintenance & Safety Inspection Technician will investigate and share with you, any & all safety related matters that we uncover.  We will also identify any maintenance your system may need for maximum efficiency, comfort, reliability, and longevity.  During your Maintenance & Safety Inspection, our service technician will perform a 50-point inspection of your home cooling system that will take about an hour or so to complete. This includes, but is not limited to the following: 

  • Inspect air filtration system
  • Run test to verify proper sequence of operation
  • Check refrigeration system performance, including:
    • Refrigerant level
    • Temperatures / pressures & other associated refrigeration parameters
    • Investigate any improper restrictions, or low refrigerant levels if/when found
  • Flush drain
  • Inspect electrical connections, wiring harness & disconnect (as applicable)
  • Inspect the contactor for integrity, improper resistance, pitting or burning.
  • Measure and document electrical parameters, such as
    • Incoming voltage
    • Amp draw of blower motor
    • Amp draw of compressor
    • Amp draw of the outdoor fan motor
    • Investigate any improper resistance that may be found in the electrical circuit.
  • Inspect capacitor(s) for integrity, corrosion and capacitance
  • Inspect readily accessible ducts for integrity, cleanliness, and/or obvious air leaks
  • Inspect blower for proper / adequate air flow.
    • Includes Inspection of wheel, motor (& lubricate as needed)
  • Vacuum loose debris from the blower cabinet
  • Wipe clean the reachable areas of the unit cabinet
  • Inspect indoor coils for obstructions and/or cleanliness
  • Inspect outdoor coils for obstructions leaks and/or cleanliness.
  • Replace filter if/when provided by the customer while on-site at the time of inspection
  • Check and calibrate thermostat as required
  • Inspect both the indoor and outdoor units for loose or worn parts and abnormal vibrations
  • Test and adjust the unit for peak operating efficiency

Your F.H. Furr Maintenance & Safety Inspection, satisfies the manufacture’s requirements for annual inspection by a licensed contractor.  It will also keep you informed on any additional maintenance that may be needed to keep your system running safely, reliably & efficiently for a long time.
